Following on from our donation to Toys on the Table, we have continued our festive giving by pledging £500 to the Salvation Army Christmas fund.
The Salvation Army provides a wide range of services throughout Christmas and beyond, benefitting everyone from families to the homeless.
At this time of year, it is more important than ever to show solidarity with those less fortunate, particularly those who are vulnerable and homeless, and the Salvation Army has always had the best interest of these people at its core.
During the Christmas period, the Salvation Army provides free meals and accommodation across the country, including their most recent innovation, NAPpads, which are being trialed in York this Christmas.
NAPpads are portable self-contained units that offer all the essentials anyone would need, including a bed, washing facilities, toilets, and charging points. They are designed to be placed where the need for emergency accommodation is greatest and could potentially be rolled out to key areas across the UK.
This donation is just one of several projects we are contributing to this Christmas, with other donations going to a wide range of causes in the UK and abroad, including supporting families in the Philippines following the recent devastation caused by Typhoon Rai.
