An entertaining watch full of tension and great performances.

Based on Jilly Cooper’s novel of the same name, is set within the cut-throat world of TV production. Featuring David Tennant as Tony Baddingham in a fictional rural county, it tells the story of Baddingham’s rivalry with Rupert Campbell-Black, played by Alex Hassell. As both compete for a TV franchise, prepare for a rollercoaster of a programme. Available on Disney+, watch with your bestie on a comfy reclining sofa.

4. The Day of the Jackal
Eddie Redmayne stars as the elusive and ruthless assassin from Frederick Forsyth’s famous book. Redmayne is tracked by MI6 agent, played by Lashana Lynch, and this gripping series is full of action and beautiful locations. With compelling performances from Redmayne and screen legend Charles Dance, this is a brilliant TV series. Available on Prime, this is best watched in a recliner with a handy snack pocket.
5. A Man on the Inside
If you’re looking for something lighter that will make you laugh then we recommend watching this comedy-crime series on Netflix with Ted Danson. Recruited by a private investigator, retired professor Danson plays a mole in a nursing home. This funny and heartwarming series will cheer you up on the dreariest of winter evenings.
6. Cobra Kai
Now in its sixth series, this Netflix teen-comedy, martial arts series is one that you can enjoy watching with your older kids. Drawing from the 80s Karate Kid films and featuring original actors, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, the story of their rivalry continues through their protegees. Heralded as the perfect combination of actors, writing and screen direction, this is a great watch after a busy day at work. But beware, you’ll need a swivel recliner if you want to feel the thrill of the fighting action!
7. Wolf Hall
Did you miss the second and final series of BBC’s Wolf Hall last month? One of the highest rated shows on British TV, this is an atmospheric and enthralling period drama.
